Hey everyone! My name is Balint and I’m a nineteen-year-old university student living in the beautiful city of Bournemouth, along the South Coast of England. You may recognise me from I wish to be a polyglot!, a blog which I used to run until about two years ago.
For the rest of you, I’d better introduce myself. I was born in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, to Hungarian and Greek parents. I moved to England at the age of 12 and have been living here ever since – I’m now in my second year at university! I’ve had a passion for languages and cultures since a very young age and, as my old blog’s title suggests, my dream is to become fluent in a number of foreign languages.
Just to clarify, I’m not special or incredibly talented, I struggle with languages just as much as anyone else would. But what I do have is a positive attitude, and a keen interest in everything to do with languages and linguistics! I grew up speaking Hungarian, with a bit of Greek on occasion. I soon found myself learning English and Hebrew at school, both of which I loved from day one. After moving to England, I was introduced to a bit of German, and then came French. A lot of French. I later ended up immersing myself into some Esperanto, Italian, Elefen, Polish and now Catalan. Want to know why? Watch this space!
P.S. Don’t forget to like my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter for more updates. See you soon!
